References - Test and quality control

A variety of electronic, electro-optical and mechanical test and measurement systems have been developed to perform fully automated tests on products. The following protocols and techniques are used for these setups: GPIB, IEEE1394, USB, data acquisition, vision analysis, RS232, HSDIO, pattern matching, motion control etc.

The device under test can be a product from a production line that needs a detailed periodical inspection, in which case the test data is used for monitoring purposes. This detailed periodical inspection can be used to tune the production process where necessary. It is also possible that the device under test consists of a complete machine which has to pass a final test. Mainly these are electronical and mechanical tests to prevent production errors and on the other hand to guarantee the quality of the machine.
